We build the scenery for your best stories.
40 years of dust, stone, and sawdust. 22 years as Artscape.
Most people see a steep lakeside slope or a messy backyard as a problem. We see it as a canvas. At Artscape, we don’t just "install" pavers or "build" decks; we create the spaces where your family spends the next twenty summers.
The Art of the Craft
I’ve spent four decades learning how stone moves and how wood breathes. Today, I work alongside my son—a master craftsman who’s taking the family trade into the next generation. Between us, there’s a lot of old-school grit and new-school creativity. We thrive on the jobs others turn down because they’re "too complicated" or "too technical." If it’s on a lake, on a cliff, or requires an artist’s eye, that’s our sweet spot.
Professional, but Personal
We aren't a massive corporation with a fleet of salesmen in ties. When you hire Artscape, you get us. We work on high-end, complex projects, but our approach is simple: we build things that last, and we treat our clients like friends. In fact, after 40 years in the business, most of our clients are our friends.
We’re here for the homeowners who want something more than "standard." We’re here for the ones who want a masterpiece in mahogany, stone, and earth.
Artscape. Landscapes, Hardscapes, and Decks that stand the test of time.

They say craft is caught, not taught. My son grew up on these job sites, watching how stone is set and how wood is joined. Today, he’s a master craftsman in his own right, bringing a sharp, modern eye to our most complex builds. He has that rare combination of a young man’s energy and an old soul’s respect for the materials. When we’re out on a lakeside cliff or a technical deck build, he’s the one obsessing over the final 1% of the detail that makes the job a masterpiece.
Shawn represents the future of Artscape. Having mastered the trade under 40 years of family experience, he’s evolved into a specialist who understands that "good enough" never is. Whether he’s navigating the technicalities of a Trex layout or hand-finishing a mahogany rail, he brings a level of precision and creativity that pushes our work to the next level. He isn't just my son; he’s the partner I trust to keep the Artscape standard alive for the next 40 years.
